Alexander High School
Choir
When entrusted with the Alexander High School Choir program, I inherited a program of 18 students. Over the next three years, the program grew to more than 230 students while maintaining a commitment to musical excellence and student development. During that time, multiple ensembles earned their first UIL Sweepstakes ratings in school history, new leadership structures were established, and a culture of ownership, service, and achievement became the foundation of the program. My goal has never been simply to build strong musicians, but to help students develop confidence, character, leadership skills, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Alexander High School
Concert Season
During Concert Season my groups have earned consecutive sweepstakes since my tenure at Alexander, all while exclusively playing Grade 5 Literature (The most challenging level in the Texas UIL PML). I have been able to accomplish this with both the Non-Varsity and Sub Non-Varsity Ensembles, no other band has been able to accomplish this in our region. Our students come from different backgrounds and proficiency levels. We have had students that cannot read music or struggle to make a characteristic sound on their instruments. I meet my students where they're at and help build their skills in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.

Marching Season
During the fall, I serve as one of the directors of our prestigious marching band. Our program has advanced to the STATE competition five times, consecutively. Recently, they were granted the title of AREA G Champions in 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025. They also hold the title of BOA South Texas Regional Champions for the year 2019, 2022, and 2025. They have been Yamaha Cup Champions numerous times and have been the UISD Marching Festival Champions since 2017.

TMEA and UIL Solo and Ensemble
In the past 9 years the Alexander woodwind students have accomplished a monumental amount of 1st Division Medals, TMEA District, Region, Area, and State Members.
